Where it All Began: HK Solutions Group History

HK Solutions Group began in Maxwell, Iowa, in 1976. In the beginning, HK was just one man with a single line jetter. He performed a limited set of municipal services while working a fulltime job.

In 2000, HK headquarters moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and in 2011, we began to develop a long-term strategy for expanding our service offerings and geographic locations this led to the following acquisitions and expansions:


  • Added CIPP pipe repair services with acquisition of A-Tech in Watertown, South Dakota and opened an additional location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota


  • Acquired Infra-Tech in Minneapolis, Minnesota and began offering Monoform manhole rehab services and opened an additional location in Mankato, Minnesota


  • Opened an office in Kansas City, Missouri


  • Opened an office in Wausau, Wisconsin




  • Established a distributorship for AGRU Lining Systems in DeLand, Florida and Mankato, Minnesota
  • Developed patented Monoform PLUS® lining system which provides a permanent structural and corrosive-resistant manhole rehabilitation solution
  • Acquired Hempen Mobile Wash in Keokuk, Iowa which allowed us to expand our service offerings into the Mississippi River Valley.
  • Acquired Engineered Lining Systems, allowing HK Solutions Group to expand further into Florida.

HK Leadership & Sales

Wade Anderson President & Chief Executive Officer

Wade joined HK Solutions Group in 2011 as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining HK, he worked in a leadership role at Deloitte & Touche for 8 years. In 2018, he was promoted to President and CEO. Wade focuses his time on strategic growth opportunities while overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Rob Sherwood Chief Financial Officer

Rob joined the HK Solutions Group leadership team in 2019 after serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Broker Dealer Financial Services. He and his team are responsible for managing the company's financial statements, financial planning and analysis, cash flow, information technology and bank relations.

Mike Ingham Chief Sales Officer

Mike joined HK Solutions Group in 2016 with over 20 years of sales experience in the industrial cleaning industry. When he joined the team in 2016, he was a regional manager in HK's South region. He was promoted to Director of Sales in 2018 and was most recently promoted to Chief Sales Officer in late 2019. Mike works with each of HK Solutions' Business Development Directors and Regional Account Managers, helping grow sales and customer relationships across all HK territories and service lines. 

Jessica Goodson Chief Human Resources Officer

Jessica joined the HK Solutions Group team in 2014, filling the role of HR Manager. She was promoted to Director of Human Resources in the summer of 2016. In 2020, Jessica was promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer and is now responsible for overseeing the company's payroll and benefits department while also orchestrating the personnel components of our business including hiring and terminations, disciplinary procedures, new employee onboarding, training, performance reviews, and promotions. 

Melissa Ploplis Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Melissa joined HK Solutions Group in October 2021 as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Prior to HK, she spent 10 years serving in senior accounting and finance roles for a global engineered pipe services company. Melissa now utilizes her experience to deliver value-added business analysis and meaningful financial metrics to support the achievement of HK?s business goals and objectives.

Bill Denny Director of Fleet Maintenance

Bill joined HK Solutions Group in 2019 with many years of maintenance and DOT compliance experience. He was promoted to Director of Fleet Maintenance in late 2019. Bill is responsible for managing fleet maintenance and maintaining DOT compliance records for HK's equipment fleet.

Ryan Blackburn Director of Industrial Services

Ryan joined HK Solutions Group in 1997 as a Service Technician and has risen to his current position as HK's Director of Industrial Services since 2018. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the Industrial Services and Wastewater Pretreatment Plant divisions. He focuses his efforts on increasing the capabilities and profitability of these divisions.

Brian Craig Director of P.I.P.E. Services

Brian joined HK Solutions Group in 1996 as a Service Technician. Brian has risen to the current position as the Director of P.I.P.E. Services since 2018. He is responsible for leading the P.I.P.E. Services division, growing HK's pipeline inspection capabilities and increasing the profitability of the P.I.P.E. Services division.

Chad Hauck Director of Structure Rehab Services

Chad joined HK Solutions Group in September 2020 as the Director of Structure Rehab Services. He spent 21 years in the United States Marine Corps and before arriving at HK spent six years in the concrete industry overseeing construction of footings, walls, flat work and demolition crews. Chad now oversees and focuses his efforts on growing the capabilities and increasing the profitability of the Structure Rehab Services division. 

Todd Sykora Director of Fabrication and Distribution Services

Todd joined the company in 1997 as a Service Technician.  Over the years, he has been promoted several times and has been in his current position as the Director of Fabrication & Distribution Services since HK acquired Turner Lining in late 2020. He oversees and focuses his efforts on growing the capabilities and increasing the profitability of the Turner Lining (HK's Fabrication & Distribution Services) division. 

James Macko Director of Large Diameter Pipe
James joined HK Solutions Group through the acquisition of Engineered Lining Systems (ELS) in 2021.  Having 20 years' experience in leadership in the pipe rehabilitation industry, he accepted his current position as the Director of Large Diameter Pipe Rehab at the 2021 acquisition.  He oversees UV GRP Pipe Lining and PVC Alloy Pipe Lining divisions.  He focuses his efforts on growing HK's capabilities and increasing the profitability of the Large Diameter Pipe Rehab division.  Close
Chad Mesenbrink Director of Industrial Sales
Chad joined HK Solutions Group in September 2017 as an Account Manager covering much of Iowa and Omaha, NE. In October 2020, Chad was promoted to Business Development Director of Industrial Services managing the same territories while also working to bolster communication between HK's sales group and operations in relation to industrial services. He focuses his efforts on ensuring projects are efficient and cost effective for HK's customers. Close
Brian Rinehart Business Development Director - Biofuels
Brian joined HK Solutions Group in 2000 as HK's first Client Service Representative. In 2018 he moved into the role of Business Development Director - Biofuels where he continues to find solutions for customer's cleaning and environmental needs.  Close
Matt Huston Business Development Director - Structure Rehabilitation
Matt joined HK Solutions Group in 2015 when HK acquired Infratech, a Midwest sewer rehabilitation company, with manhole rehabilitation experience and capabilities. He has over 25 years of experience in wastewater structure rehab. His work now includes estimating manhole rehab projects, assisting with structure rehabilitation operations management and business development in HK's geographic footprint. Matt was one of the founding partners of Infratech and brought his considerable knowledge and experience to HK. He is invaluable when it comes to selecting the right solution for full structural rehabilitations, structural enhancements, corrosion protection or infiltration work and inflow mitigation. Close
Wayne Turner Business Development Director - Fabricated Lining Systems
Wayne Turner, founder of recently acquired Turner Lining Company, has over 35 years of experience in the precast structure industry. Wayne has spent over 25 years focusing on designing, fabricating, and installing AGRU Lining systems and is considered the leading expert in the industry. Wayne was instrumental in the development of HK's patented Monoform PLUS® process. With his knowledge, we will be able to better serve our customers in both the precast and rehabilitation sectors. Kenneth Hempen Business Development Director - Mississippi River Valley
Kenny Hempen is the former founder and owner of Hempen Mobile Wash, an industrial services company in Keokuk, Iowa. When HK Solutions Group acquired Hempen Mobile Wash in 2021, Kenny joined the HK team. He will continue working with both existing and new customers by providing his expertise in industrial services in the Mississippi River Valley area of south east Iowa, north east Missouri and western Illinois. Don Arch Business Development Director - Large Diameter Pipe

Don Arch, the founder of recently acquired Engineered Lining Systems (ELS), has over 30+ years of experience in plumbing, mechanical, and construction trades. ELS has been a leader in the UV-GRP trenchless technology industry since 2004. Don serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

Ben Anderson Logistics Manager
Ben joined HK Solutions Group in July 2019 as the Logistics Manager assisting with inside sales for Des Moines, IA. Prior to arriving at HK, he specialized in managing and assisting with the cleaning of ethanol facilities throughout the Midwest. Ben now uses his experience to coordinate equipment and personnel to create the best possible solutions for customers. Close
Steve Rehome Regional Sales Manager
Steve joined HK Solutions Group in 2016 as a Regional Sales Manager specializing in the industrial services market. He brought 20+ years of sales and customer service to the HK team as well as extensive experience in the food processing and manufacturing industries. In 2018, Steve's role with HK was changed to concentrate on gaining new customers within his territory of Western Wisconsin, South-Central Minnesota and the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area. His primary concern is to always be a champion for the customer and to provide his clients with an unmatched level of service. Close
John Bluntach Regional Sales Manager
John is the Regional Manager for HK Solutions Group's Northern Minnesota and North Dakota areas. He has worked in the wastewater and storm water pipe and structure rehab field for over 24 years and joined HK's team in 2015. Due to his extensive field experience, John is able to provide unique insight on projects to ensure each customer receives the best possible service. As a lifelong resident of Northern MN, he is also able to meet the special needs of the region. Close
Chuck Patton Regional Sales Manager

Chuck started with HK Solutions Group in May 2018 and is the Regional Sales Manager for Kansas, Missouri and Southeast Nebraska. He specializes in many areas including: industrial, commercial and chemical manufacturing, food processing, municipal, environmental, agricultural and federal services, and waste management / hauling. Chuck prides himself on building long-term relationships with customers and providing custom solutions to any problem. 

Jake Nanti Regional Sales Manager
Jake is the Regional Sales Manager of HK Solution Group's Municipal Services division. He joined HK in April 2018 as an inside sales rep tasked with taking any contractor call-in work that came through the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, before expanding to cover calls in all territories. In January 2019, Jake was promoted to Municipal Services Manager and now manages project bidding and RFPs, call-in work across all Midwest locations and he works to grow HK's customer service base in the Twin Cities. Tameka Kueser Regional Sales Manager
Tameka joined the HK Solutions Group team in 2021 as a Regional Sales Manager for the Municipal Services Division providing cleaning/televising and Monoform services in the Kansas, Missouri, Southern Nebraska, and Southern Iowa regions.  She has an extensive background i commercial/industrial waste and recycling as well as janitorial services.  Her primary focus is to provide customized solutions to meet the needs and expectations of her clientele.  Close
Nancy Freeman Regional Sales Manager
Nancy has worked in the construction industry for over 11 years with a background in sales & marketing.  Her experience spans multiple industries, including emergency restoration (water/fire/mold), sinkhole remediation & soil stabilization, biohazard clean-up, and trenchless technology.  In 2016, Nancy began working with a diverse customer base providing long-term, cost-effective pipe lining solutions.  She is now one of HK's regional sales manager based in the Tampa, Florida area.  Close
Ken Powell Regional Sales Manager
Ken joined Engineered Lining Systems (ELS) in March 2020 as a regional sales manager.  He spent eight years in the safety industry in a regional sales role.  Ken specializes in the UV lining, CCTV and investigation of sanitary and storm drains, and manhole rehab. Close
Ryan Horn Regional Sales Manager
Ryan joined the HK team in November of 2021 as a Regional Sales Manager based out of the South Dakota area.   Before joining the sales team Ryan spent 15 years in the insurance, agriculture and banking industries.  We look forward to seeing Ryan use his more than a decade of business and finance experience to grow our footprint throughout the midwest. Stephen Stoia Senior Estimator
Steve has worked in the trenchless technology industry for over 11 years as a Senior Estimator/Project Manager out of Jacksonville, Florida.  He works closely with clients to understand their project needs and proposes cost-effective solutions.  Before working in the construction industry, Steve was a Class A Member of the Professional Golfers Association of America.  We look forward to having Steve on the team and putting his more than a decade of experience to work. Brenda German Sales Coordinator
Brenda made a career change in 2019 and joined HK Solutions Group as the Office Manager of the former Pipemasters location in Watertown, SD. In 2020, she was promoted to Sales Coordinator where she manages requests for urgent callouts while also working to build the HK name in the northern part of South Dakota. Brenda and her team in Watertown primarily work with local dairy and farming communities, but also work with municipalities.   Close
Adam Sewell Sales Specialist
Adam joined the company in 2021 as a Sales Specialist.  He had over five years of industrial experience and insight he is able to bring to the company.  Adam focuses his efforts on researching potential projects for the team.  We are so excited for the opportunities Adam will identify for us!
